Two beautiful butterflies make circles at my feet, slowly opening and closing their wings. The geese sit lazily picking at the grass. A large blue dragonfly flies in deliberate circles, and the horses stand in blissful ease. Like me and the dog I'm leaning on, they are delighting in and soaking up the warm rays of the sun, offering silent thanks for a beautiful day.

Black and Bright
After a rain-swept day it is a surprise and delight to find a star-swept night sky. The Milky Way stretches across the heavens with handfuls of bright stars liberally tossed along it's path. Tonight billions and billions of stars are visible in that deep, dark sky. I look up at the brilliant beacons, and my mind magnifies them into the galaxies, gas clouds, and other wonders our mighty telescopes have shown us. What a beautiful universe we live in. I so love living in the country where it is still dark enough to see the endless waves of stars.

MY House!
I actually had to back the quad up to the bale and stand on the rack to see this cozy nest right in the middle. This cat adopted the farm last fall, and has single-handedly kept it nearly mouse free. She is very wild, although we've had a couple of silent conversations, and she has been accepting the meat offerings I've made lately.
This picture should come with a soundtrack. Growls, rumbles and hisses warned me away.
