New Camera

My beloved Canon Powershot has been limping along for about a year, and finally died of lens errors. The little substitute I borrowed has also died of unknown causes. I didn't realize how much I missed having a camera until my new one arrived yesterday.

This is looking towards Mt. St. Helens at full zoom (the mountain itself is behind clouds). Not bad for straight out of the box on auto mode. I haven't read any instructions yet.

I'm so excited! It would be lovely if the clouds lifted so I could get some mountain shots, but there are plenty of small treasures to practice on. 

Getting Hay

My neighbor and I got a truck, van, and trailer load of hay today. I wish all this hay was mine! The guys who move it around would be mighty handy, too.

Roadside Treasures

Some people call them weeds, and admittedly cattails and thistle are both terribly invasive. They do, however, add texture, color, and beauty to the hard and noisy road. And notice the cool barn in the background.

The Free Tree

From the other road. I'm also intrigued by the box on the left, with the yellow curtains. Shadow box? Punch and Judy stage? It's pretty broken down, but only appeared recently. There's activity in the barn. Hopefully someone has moved in with a plan to save these wonderful buildings.
