Clouds

Clouds
have such an important role
on this living sphere
Clouds
reveal the winds
show the depths of the sky
Clouds
are beautiful
and ever changing
Clouds
distribute the waters of the planet
across the lands

Spring Pleasures

New leaves glow
Lit from within
Showing the world
The tree's joy
In the return of
Long days
and Warm sun

After the Storm

There are still stars!
There's still a moon!
They have not blown away.
Perhaps there may still be a sun
That we will see again,
Some day.

On the Wings of the Wind

On the wings of the wind comes the rain.
So happy to be here, it leaps from the sky
Twirling, diving, plummeting to the ground
Splashing high, each drop joyously greets its friends
Running together to find the others
Joining in streams and rivulets
Pouring down hills, cars, necks
Slurping over the sides of gutters
Finding low spots to gather in
Making puddles and mud.

Once the world is sufficiently soaked
And the clouds are mostly empty
The rain slows its downward dance
Droplets caught in trees, on roofs
Make their way to the ground
And the puddles grow.

Then another cloud arrives
Bearing more drops
Eager to fly.

The Closing Lid

Today was gray
the lid over the sky
firmly in place
a solid sky
leaking rain
The edges lifted slightly
showing potential
then closed
locking in
the gray
and the wet

Cycles

Once again the day begins
The sun sets the sky aglow
Light returns and darkness sleeps
The word is born anew

Softly, In Pink

Softly, softly the day is ending
Blue sky and white mountains
Highlighted in pink
Dragonfly clouds
Wing their way west
Night is on it's way

Rebel Sun

A cast-iron lid covers the sky - but the sun won't be contained, and boils through at the edge, bubbling light spilling over the land.

Mini Breaks

Native berries - sudden bursts of flavor
An apt reward for cutting the grass
from the side of the road

Promises

Moments of sun
through a cloud-laden sky
reminders of times
yet to come

Red Moon

The red moon rises
Gleaming in the light mist
It is much quieter
And more mysterious
Than when it is yellow or gold

A Hole In The Sky

A hole opened in the dark gray sky

And the Sun shone brightly through

Highlighting the proud display of new leaves by the Cottonwoods

And turning raindrops into Diamonds

Reminding me how grateful I am for this beautiful World

Golden Moon in Profile

I turn the corner and there you are
Shining in golden glory
Your gibbous face
Framed by long dark clouds
That highlight your saffron glow
You are a beacon of beautiful light
Guiding me as I drive home
There are no words to describe
Your absolute beauty
I am blessed by your presence
Cleansed by your pure and loving light

The Golden Moon

Moon of gold
Low in the darkening sky
Slowly rising above the trees.
An echo
Of the hot summer sun
Promise of a cool night to come.

Autumn Blows In

We're late! We're late!

It's November, and still sunny in Cascadia!
Come clouds,
Come rain,
We'll fly.
Wind knows the way.
Wind is swift,
Wind is sure.
Wind will carry us,
move us,
and let us settle.
We know we've been missed.
Welcome wind. Welcome clouds. Welcome rain.
Winter has begun.
