Does he screech a lot? I once encountered a peacock at a castle in Lisbon and he was very vocal.
Not a lot; my peafowl are fairly quiet. They make the most noise during breeding season, late spring through summer. I think it depends on how many males are within hearing distance, and how much "disturbance" there is. They sound off when they see or hear something unusual.
What a gorgeous bird, our neighbor has them too... love them!
